Even at 4xD stickout, and at about .4xD steppover, this thing still ran smoothly and with zero chatter. It absolutely eats metal! I cut one cycle times for a part I often make from an hour and a half to just 28 minutes!! I will definitely be purchasing more of these.

A game changer for smaller milling machines like the Tormach

We're prototyping a titanium and stainless folding knife with a Tormach 1100. This rougher adds so much capability to machines like this that you wont believe it until you try one for yourself. We're profiling 3/16 tool steel and titanium in one pass with no chatter. We've used tools from other manufacturers and always thought that the problem was the machine, but it isn't. You can productively machine typically difficult materials with high speed tool paths and the right combination of tooling and feed rates. The best part is that Carl is available personally to help you succeed. I only gave it five stars because I couldnt give it six.

Great rougher for titanium, and zirconium

I use this end mill manually on 6al4v titanium and zirconium 702 regularly and it works great! Even my measly 1.5hp motor makes this thing mow through everything I have put in front of it. I love how rigid of a tool this is, you can tell a major difference just in sound coming from the machine.
To those milling zirconium with it, be very careful!! Zirconium is already a danger working with it period but the very small chips that come from this endmill can make for a significant fire hazard. Also the flutes will get clogged and packed full if you do not run some sort of coolant or air blast setup. I did not and have not had the same flute loading problem when milling 6al4v titanium dry however
